Dolly Char is a recruitment agency operating in the domestic cleaning market. We provide a service for people who are looking for domestic help and our job is to find the right individual for their particular needs. After we do this the client retains the cleaner directly and we charge a quarterly agency fee for the service provided. In the event that the cleaner leaves or the client is not happy for any reason we will find a replacement cleaner for them as soon as possible.

We do not employ cleaners ourselves and hire them out to clients at a marked up rate - we simply provide a recruitment service to the client on an agency basis.

How it works

The primary role of the franchisee is to develop a 'bank' of cleaners looking for domestic work and then to target the service to potential domestic users.

Every client is visited prior to a domestic cleaner being allocated. This is to enable them to find out more about Dolly Char and how we operate. It is also to determine what their needs and requirements are, including the regularity of cleaning. This allows us to be able to match up the right cleaner for the client. After this meeting a cleaner is normally allocated to the client and providing both the client and cleaner are happy with each other a starting date is agreed. The Dolly Char franchisee manages this relationship and provides insurance (public liability & accidental damage) for the cleaner whilst they are fulfilling their duties. Franchisees also deal with any ongoing problems that both cleaners and clients may experience.

Franchisees are trained to manage their own business in an effective and profitable way using tried and tested systems and techniques. It is important to note that franchisees are not expected to do any of the cleaning. Their main role will be to recruit cleaners for clients and to market the agency service.
